Corporate Citizenship’s third survey of global businesses on the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) unveiled some sobering statistics. The standout headline was that corporate action is stalling.
In Singapore, our study found that of the Top 50 companies listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX); only 20% are publicly acknowledging the SDGs. This is compared to 51% of FTSE 100 companies in the UK and 38% of Fortune 50 companies in the US.
Why aren’t more companies taking concrete action?
In this Knowledge Series breakfast briefing we hope to explore this and delve into a real case where one of our clients has taken a very thoughtful approach in developing its plans to contribute to the 2030 development agenda. The session will welcome audience participation and questions, so please come prepared to share and learn.
We will be joined by special guest Gwendolyn Loh, Sembcorp Industries.
Gwen is the Sustainability lead in Sembcorp Industries’ Group Strategic Communications and Sustainability department. Besides being the driver for Sembcorp’s Sustainability reporting and disclosures, Gwen works closely with internal stakeholders to integrate sustainability throughout the organisation, including areas related to strategy, policy development as well as performance and governance.
