Richard Phillips

Consultant, London
My primary area of focus is to conduct insightful research for clients to deliver a range of sustainability services. I am particularly interested in emerging trends within sustainability, from the issues that are rising up the agenda to the innovation in how they are tackled.

Before joining Corporate Citizenship, I interned as a Policy Analyst at the ET Index, a data provider guiding low-carbon investments. Prior to that, I assisted the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership in developing its Prospectus to attract business leaders to undertake sustainability Masters Courses.

I began my journey in sustainability through my degree, studying Geography at the University of Cambridge, where I focused on human responses to social and environmental risks.

Client and project experience:
I have worked with clients from a range of sectors to deliver materiality, community investment and assurance services. I have particular experience in working with companies in the financial sector, including KPMG and HSBC, to develop impactful community strategies that align to their core business. My other clients have included Unilever, Nokia and Richemont.

Person I most admire:
Michael Palin – For his advocacy of geographers holding the answer to the world’s problems. We do.
