In this webinar we explore the most recent trends and developments in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability for pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare companies. Corporate Citizenship is joined by Jane Nelson, Director of the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University as we discuss the following:

1. Emerging Trends – From clinical trial transparency to pharmaceuticals in the environment and executive pay, new issues and potential reputational and business risks are constantly emerging. New research from Corporate Citizenship sheds light on some of the trends, and we discuss how a sharper focus on material economic, governance, environmental and social issues help navigate a changing operating environment. We also explore what new issues and opportunities are on the horizon for the sector.

2. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – Building on our research of emerging issues, we explore how companies in the healthcare sector are aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With the launch of the SDGs in 2015, global leaders have identified clear platforms for public-private cooperation to solve the most pressing healthcare challenges in the world. For the healthcare sector, SDG number 3 – to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages – may seem like the obvious goal to tackle. But dig deeper and there are a wealth of ways in which healthcare organisations are well placed to address of a number of the SDGs effectively.
