The Corporate Citizenship team in Australia is seeking to recruit an experienced sustainability consultant to support the growth of its business across APAC.

The post-holder will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of project and client management, in addition to developing and improving their knowledge of service lines and subject matter expertise. They should demonstrate a good grasp of consulting core competencies such as research, analysis, report writing, presentation, and facilitation skills.  They must be able to manage workload autonomously and know when to ask for support or input from other colleagues. They will need to actively participate in all stages of business development process including lead generation activities (e.g. thought leadership), understanding and interpreting client needs, developing proposals and pitching. They should also begin developing own network to aid new business development.

In summary:

  • Sustainability Consultant:
  • Reporting to Technical Discipline Manager in Corporate Citizenship
  • Assist and support the team in undertaking its core business
  • Assist in preparation of proposals and technical reports
  • Proactively work across disciplines to maintain utilisation targets set by manager
  • Assisting with delivery of projects to time and budget
  • Timely timesheet, billings completion and work-in-progress (WIP) management

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assists in delivering sustainability projects using established practice
  • Participates in technical and/or professional associations
  • Shares expertise and knowledge within and across Corporate Citizenship
  • Assists in managing small, routine technical projects or aspects of larger projects within committed timeframes
  • Completes invoices on job completion in a timely manner
  • Uses Deltek VantagePoint and other metrics to ensure project elements are continually monitored with any issues reported
  • Work towards providing work for review that is complete and intended for issue ‘as is’ to clients
  • Ensures authorisation processes, policies and practices are communicated and followed (e.g. health and safety, expenses, expenditure, travel, equipment)

WHS:

CLIENTS:

  • Assists with proposals and develops strong client relationships
  • Assists with the needs and expectations of projects and proposals from a client point of view including legislative and/or regulatory aspects
  • Communicates effectively with clients to ensure accurate project and proposal preparation, delivery and follow up including escalation to the relevant person where appropriate
  • Builds trusting and collaborative working relationships with clients and internal contacts
  • Drafts proposals for small to medium sized projects that involve familiar work
  • Increase knowledge and understanding of market information ensuring the relevant information is passed on to the appropriate person

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Typically, 1-3 years’ experience coupled with relevant degree
  • Working toward more self-sufficiency at the next grade level
  • Detail focused and completes tasks on time and on budget
  • Effective communication with colleagues and clients
  • Competent in analytical assessments and reporting

ROLE BREAKDOWN:

  • You would typically see targets like the following:
  • Utilisation (i.e. chargeable project work)
  • PROMOs (e.g. writing proposals and promotion of technical discipline and associated marketing etc)
  • Admin (e.g. team meetings)
