SDGs: Materially impacting the bottom line

Are the Global Goals delivering results for the bottom line? This is the question we explored during our fourth annual global research on the SDGs – looking at what the largest 240 companies across five markets are reporting. In 2015, when 193 members of the United Nations General Assembly agreed to 17 global priorities to be achieved over the next 15 years, we viewed the Global Goals as ‘a unique opportunity for businesses to align their programmes and purpose to the needs of society – and in so doing, grow the business, reach new customers and markets, develop new products and boost the bottom line.’ Three years on, we’ve taken stock of how businesses have engaged with this opportunity and if it is indeed delivering results for the bottom line.
