Diana Paolone

B4SI Network Coordinator, London
Areas of Expertise
I am a researcher and network coordinator, committed to enhancing opportunities for young women to succeed through innovative networks consisting of businesses, practitioners and others who invest in their communities through social and environmental initiatives. My expertise lies in developing and coordinating global networks, gender focused research on financial education and micro-businesses in the Global South, and designing safeguarding policy for education institutions and businesses. My international work includes coaching micro female-led businesses in Tanzania and developing gender-inclusive policy for government and educational institutions in Zanzibar.

Background:
Prior to joining CC, I worked in the NGO sector developing and coordinating a variety of global networks, some of which include, NEXUS, a network of global network leaders and a young female Entreprenurial network (in conjunction with government and local businesses) across Tanzania. My experience is underscored by my education. I hold an MA in Education, Gender, and International Development from UCL where I completed my dissertation in partnership with iNGO, Asante Africa Foundation.

Person I most admire:
Maya Angelou - She was brave and ahead of her time, writing deeply personal traumatic stories through the lens of intersectionality, a concept not properly defined until the late 80s. Her influential narrative voice of American civil rights continues to inspire movements for equal rights around the world.
