James Moir

Intern
Background:
I graduated from the University of York in Politics with International Relations. At university, I took modules in Global Sustainability and Energy Policy, Systems of Climate Change Governance and others which introduced me to the sustainability field. During my Erasmus year in Norway, I volunteered with Friends of the Earth and supported the SDG Bergen Conference. Prior to joining Corporate Citizenship, I completed a seven-month internship at Hill + Knowlton Strategies as part of the Energy & Industrials team consulting clients on proactive and reactive communications for the use of sustainable aviation fuel, participation in COP26, company-specific emissions reduction targets, carbon credits trading, and more. Through my study and professional experience in sustainability, I have become interested in the potential of climate finance in bridging socially intersectional economic growth for the global south in an environmentally sustainable way.

Person I most admire:
Political and social scientist, Susan George, has been an inspiration for my interest in environmental policy and social justice. Her books have taught me how interconnected and fragile our ecosystems are and the value in mobilising grassroots organisations to promote community representation.
