Blue Peter’s Helen Skelton went to Sierra Leone.

Why?

To see how raising money for Sport Relief can help less-fortunate children like Issa.

Issa lost his mother and sister due to dirty drinking water. The nearest clean water well is over an hour away. He must make this journey daily to keep his family safe.

The UN says they reached the drinking water MDG three years early. Now 89% of the world’s population have access to improved water supplies. But today’s World Water Day is a reminder that there is still a long way to go. Issa’s heart-wrenching story challenges us to push on boundaries and targets for drinking water.

Let’s hope everyone can be lucky enough to have safe water soon.

Lucky?

Well, we all take this for granted.
