I have worked as a sustainability consultant for the past 19 years, initially with the Corporate Citizenship Company and then with PwC’s London Sustainability & Climate Change team. At PwC I worked predominantly in Sustainability Strategy, Climate Strategy, Sustainability Valuation and Climate Risk areas. Following 10 years at PwC, I worked in-house for Barclays Sustainability Team where I managed participation in the UNEP FI TCFD banking sector working group, seeking to develop an approach to assess the financial implications of climate risk and opportunity across climate scenarios.Client and Project Experience:
I have worked across many sectors to support clients to better understand and manage their social and environmental impacts. For example, I have delivered projects on Non-financial Assurance (for E.ON, HRH, Pearson, S&N etc), GHG accounting (for PwC Global, Signet, Scottish Government, Weir Group), Sustainability Strategy (for Credit Suisse, Mars, National Grid, Duke of Devonshire, Dubai Electricity & Water Authority), Sustainability Data Management (for Barclays, Rothschild, SAP, Deutsche Bank), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (for UK and Swiss banks) and Sustainability Valuation (for RSA, Aviva, Kingfisher, KNB, M&S, GSK).
Areas of Expertise
My expertise is in the areas of Sustainability Strategy, Climate Risk and Sustainability Valuation.
Person I most admire:
Those dedicated to educating us about the importance of conserving the natural world including the likes of journalist and author George Monbiot, who writes about ‘rewilding’ the UK and what is happening to wildlife. Despite opinions as to BBC’s position on the environment, I also include David Attenborough for his conservation work and as a broadcaster who is now inspiring my own children to take an interest in our planet. I also admire anyone brave enough to talk about their personal battles to raise awareness and acceptance of the human condition. Most recently, Nadiya Hussain’s frank discussion about mental health comes to mind.
