Tess McNamara

Senior Consultant

Background:
Prior to joining Corporate Citizenship, I was at RMIT University, where I was responsible for implementing a range of staff enablement functions and frameworks. These strategic initiatives ranged from designing and operationalising evaluation and impact measurement frameworks, building relationships with key external stakeholders, to implementing staff capability development programs.

My career started in social research as a specialist qualitative researcher. This is where my passion for social impact began, providing opportunities to see first-hand the impact social programs or problems had on people and communities, and being to able to demonstrate and report social impact back to clients.

Areas of Expertise:
As a Senior Project Consultant at Corporate Citizenship, I have experience in research, measurement and evaluation, with a particular focus on demonstrating social impact. I am passionate about bringing the ‘S’ in ESG to the forefront of conversations and assisting the private sector to drive and demonstrate their social impact ambitions.

Client and Project Experience:
Over the years, I acquired experience working with a range of for-profit and not-for-profit clients, as well as Australian state and federal government departments and statutory authorities.

Person I admire the most:
I admire people who influence changes in attitudes and narratives held in the general population through their work and advocacy. Dylan Alcott, wheelchair tennis champion and former Australian of the Year, comes to mind in his advocacy for inclusion of people with a disability. The progressive work that Julie Inman Grant, Office of the e-Safety Commissioner, is driving around improving online safety in Australia (and globally) is another person who I admire.
