Scope 3 is difficult to measure, and for that reason most of the discussion on Scope 3 revolves around measurement and reporting. However, for those looking beyond measurement – at target setting and driving emissions reductions – there is a noticeable lack of guidance. This can lead companies to shy away from concrete targets, downgrade ambition, and prioritise potentially lower impact actions.
