The Associate Director will play a key and influential role within our Europe team with a focus on nurturing and growing our Environment & Climate Change (E&CC) services. Our E&CC service practice sits within our global ESG Strategic Advisory technical discipline with offices in London, Santiago, Melbourne, New York, San Francisco and Singapore.

What will you be doing?

You will provide strategic direction for our E&CC service, with a focus on business and client development, as well as developing and managing a growing specialist team. You will be supported by an experienced E&CC Director and broader senior management team who share an ambition to create positive social and environmental impact through client work.

Your growth mindset will be essential for this role, along with the experience you have in managing teams, and your track record in identifying pipeline opportunities, demonstrating your deep understanding of environment and climate change strategy and transformation.

  • Team management and strategic leadership: You will have a team management role, ensuring appropriate resource allocation across projects. You will sit on the EMEA Management Team to represent E&CC across ESG Advisory. You will contribute to developing Corporate Citizenship’s European E&CC growth strategy working closely with the regional management team.
  • Client management: Develop key client relationships as well as be responsible for client project delivery.
  • People leadership: Coach and develop the E&CC team with 4 to 6 direct reports as well as mentoring opportunities.
  • Insight and Innovation: Support and oversee continued development of our service offerings and growth strategy. Support the development of our know-how, tools, methodologies and thought leadership.
  • Business development: Manage development of client proposals, identifying and winning new opportunities and prospects.

What you will need

With a passion and personal commitment to advocate for sustainable and responsible business practices, to secure a more prosperous, equitable and healthy society, you will bring excellent team management skills and embrace nurturing and developing people in a project-based, hybrid/remote and matrix organisation.

You will also have:

  • A proven track record of working with corporate or public sector clients to improve environmental performance and their impact on the climate. Specific expertise in Net Zero, Carbon Management or TCFD would be an advantage.
  • Experience managing teams and / or delivering projects relating to climate strategy
  • Strong analytical capability with experience working and manipulating environmental and / or financial impact data.
  • A strong entrepreneurial drive to identify and develop growth opportunities for Corporate Citizenship in a context of some well-established operational support
  • A strong track record of winning new business, or relevant transferable skills e.g. prospecting, pitching, scoping, negotiating, contracting
  • Excellent team management skills nurturing and developing people in a project-based, hybrid/remote and matrix organisation
