Gonzalo Carracedo

Senior Researcher

Background:
I am an Environmental Engineer from the University of Santiago of Chile, with a M.Sc. in Sustainable Engineering from Villanova University, Pennsylvania. During my master’s program, I worked as a graduate assistant for the R.I.S.E program (Resilient Innovation through Sustainable Engineering) leading and being part of research teams for the sustainability departments of companies involved in areas like renewable energies, pharmaceutical distribution, petrochemical, and telecommunications. Among the topics I researched are the set of emission goals according to Science Based Targets (SBTs) guidelines, supply chain analysis and mapping for the recycled plastics market (Cradle to Cradle) and the conversion of organic waste into higher value products.

Person I most admire:
I really admire the biologist Janine M. Benyus, for teaching me the difference between learning about nature and learning from nature.
