Carys Reed

Researcher

Background:
I joined Corporate Citizenship as an Environment & Climate Change Researcher following the experience gained from my Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Portsmouth. Here I developed a great interest for environmental management and carbon footprinting. My dissertation combined both human and physical geographies, focussing on public perceptions of hydraulic fracturing in the UK. After studying, I joined a global construction company for two years, implementing sustainable transport schemes and green city infrastructure in Southampton. I then moved to work for the London School of Economics, the first carbon neutral university in the UK, before joining CC.

Person I admire most:
Malaika Vaz, a 25-year-old national geographic filmmaker and environmental activist, campaigning for ecological protection. She is the youngest person to reach the artic and Antarctic and her filmmaking uses the power of story to shed light on threats to the planet and help put a stop to them.
